Match racing is another form of competitive sailing in which two yachts go head to head in a race over a set course – a duel boat vs. boat. One race typically consists of several rounds terminating with the finale. The pausing teams observe the races from their respective start vessel and work out tactics for the next round. Auxiliary vessels will accompany the race as start and final boats.
