One of the biggest annual offshore races Gotland Runt starts on June 30, 2024 in Stockholm. About 200 boats will sail from the center of Stockholm through the archipelago to circumnavigate the island of Gotland and return to Stockholm in the classic KSSS sailing harbor Sandhamn. The course is 350 nM, the record is 27 hours 4 minutes and 9 seconds, but for the majority it takes almost 3 days and nights.

Gotland Runt is both a Swedish sailing classic for friends and pleasure and a challenge for the best professional teams from Northern Europe. The first race around Gotland began in 1937, now more than 80 years later the Gotland Runt is a classic race.

Between 250 and 300 boats with crew start in the middle of the beautiful city of Stockholm. Sailing through the archipelago to Sandhamn, where the boats sail on the Baltic Sea. Gotland Runt has a total length of approx. 350 nM, which takes 2 – 3 days and nights to sail. All participants sail the same course with the exception of the Classic class, where boats sail directly to Visby and back to Sandhamn.

The finish is in Sandhamn, where post-sailing and prize-giving take place on the pier outside the classic “Sailors Hotel”, where the regatta dinner is also held.
